val's descrip- More than anything, I’m glad this has finally been released. Working with Logan on this has been a blast, and from recording lyrics & mixing remotely (Back Shelf Frozen Pizza + Freedom) to throwing whatever we had in mind at the DAW and then tidying it up, the experience of building this album was great, if a little tiring. Some things I want to note are that the album’ll be releasing on the day after the last day in the year of the rat, the blurb on the back of the Nacho Libre DVD is way lamer than you remember, and only one song on the album (besides Blitzkrieg Bop) had lyrics written for it. Can you guess which it is? Anyways, kick back, relax, and enjoy. And remember, if you're listening to the hottest deconstructed dungeonsynth neo-cowpunk cybersludge this side of the Mississippi... It's probably Supermarket Lobster Fight.

logan's descrip- Not sure what to say here. I guess most of the descriptions on atwood are about when and where the album was recorded, and why. Gein Family Christmas (Do androids dream of electric chlalmamdidiyaia??) was the first song we recorded. It was either on the day I met Val or the day after, maybe two days after. It was in the basement of the CUNY Brooklyn residence hall. We recorded 10-ish songs that night and this was the only one that made the cut, and it is my fav song here so I’m glad it did. Actually, we recorded freedom that night too, except the vocal part which Val did later, but maybe not, who am I to say. Year of the Rat, Fruit, and Spooky Interlude were all recorded in my dorm a few months after, maybe during the beginning of covid, maybe slightly before, I don’t remember. I was really obsessed with Mark Winter at the time. Back Shelf Frozen Pizza I believe was one Val recorded on their own somewhere and sometime. Val tells me we did the instrumental for that one on the first night and that they recorded vocals for it some other time, and finally the Blitzkrieg Bop cover and Hat w/ No Name were recorded on two separate days, deep into Covid, at my dad’s house up in Putnam County. It’s egg punk, it’s post-bedroom avant-core, it’s pajama punk… you know it, you love it, it’s Supermarket Lobster Fight I guess.
